Presentation FAQ

What are the benefits of public speaking /presentations training and coaching?
Speaking is an opportunity for your ideas to be heard, for people to notice you and your talent. Training results in overall increased confidence. My clients have gone on to new jobs, promotions, and other business opportunities as a result of training and coaching.

Why use Grant Street Communications, LLC?
I will show you how to make efficient use of your preparation time, guide you through a program that encourages rapid progress towards your goals and produces results more quickly than you would achieve on your own. You will walk away with confidence in your ability to develop and deliver clear concise and interesting business presentations that are important to you and your audience.

How long will it take?
That depends on you and your goals. The best speakers are those who have been trained and take the time to prepare, practice and present their ideas on a regular basis. They also seek professional advice so they can continue to develop as confident, effective speakers. Because every client is unique, I offer an initial free consultation so we can determine your goals and create a plan just for you.

How much will it cost?
During the initial free consultation, I will discuss your communication goals. Then I will outline your options and budget and work with you to develop a program that will meet your needs. Please call (703-299-0848) or e-mail me (lynn@grantstreetcom.com) to arrange your free consultation.

Where will the training take place?
Most clients prefer training and coaching to take place at their offices. However, some clients prefer an offsite location which I can help you arrange.

Do you use videotaping in your training?
Yes, I do record your practice in private coaching sessions and group workshops. It is the most effective way for us to evaluate your skills and help you make solid progress on improving them. The recording belongs to the individual(s) who are being trained or coached.

Can you help with content as well as delivery?
Yes, I work with both content and delivery of business speeches and presentations. A great delivery with no substance is a lost opportunity for you and your audience. The greatest content cannot overcome a poor delivery. You need both to be a great communicator.

 How large are your workshops?
I limit the presentation workshops to a maximum of eight people. This ensures that each person receives individual attention within the group setting.

Who are your clients?
I work with business professional from mid-level to executives in a variety of fields – everything from science and engineering to marketing and public relations – in government, non-profits, associations and corporations.

Is private coaching better than a group workshop?
One is not better than the other. The choice depends on your goals and schedule. Private coaching may be better if you have limited time and need immediate advice for an important business presentation. A workshop may be the best choice if you want to develop your overall speaking skills. I can help you determine the best choice for you during your free consultation.
